Bring courage, power and creativity to your classroom
Ministry of Stories is a creative writing charity that helps children and young people discover their confidence, imagination and potential through innovative writing programmes.
We work in partnership with schools and teachers in east London to help get your students buzzing about learning through the power of their imagination.
Our programmes offer the space, support and inspiration to bring excitement to writing. We deliver unique learning experiences that translate to positive results in the classroom.
We have an established track record in delivering results and our work is proven to:
From poets to playwrights, story makers to speechwriters, all our programmes are devised and delivered by professional writers and practitioners.
We measure the impact of our work to make sure it does what we say it will. All of our projects are managed by our team of experienced project managers.
Our workshops are always free to young people and the costs to school partners are heavily subsidised thanks to our generous friends and supporters.
Discover more about our innovative approach
From re-engaging your students in learning, to helping raise their expectations and aspirations, we work in partnership with schools and teachers to understand your needs.
Our work ranges from curriculum provision and topic-based projects, to staffing solutions and skills-based programmes.
Our projects foster confidence and creativity in your classroom, and can be anything from a one-off workshop to a comprehensive year-long programme.
We work with schools in the east London boroughs of Hackney, Islington and Tower Hamlets and are happy to discuss working on projects with clusters of schools.
We help young people up to 18. We work with targeted learners, whole class groups, or even the entire school depending on your needs.
We always look to provide our young writers with opportunities for progression, and many young people are eligible to join our free weekly community writing labs.
Our projects can be delivered in an intensive block or regular sessions throughout the term, either during the school day or out of school hours.
We usually deliver our programmes in your school setting, but we also host sessions at our magical writing centre, hidden behind Hoxton Street Monster Supplies.
