Celebrating the big 5

Posted by theministry on 24th November 2015

What better way to celebrate a 5th birthday then balloons, cake and a devilishly tricky quiz.

We had a good old fashion knees-up this month, to celebrate turning five and all that our brilliant young writers have achieved to date.

Old and new friends joined us to thrash it out over music, general knowledge and sports rounds; We’re pretty sure Nick Hornby rigged that one, with more questions than was decent about Arsenal football club.

It was right up to the wire when team Penguish and team Quiz Team Aguilera attempted ‘a minute to win it’ challenge. Krishnan Guru-Murthy was a dab hand at Skittle separation but stacking glue-sticks sadly beat both teams.

In the end, after copious amount of party snacks, bubbly and sneaky mobile phone googling,  it was team Four scores and seven years ago who emerged victorious and claimed their winning prize of Thickest Human Snot.

Thank you to everybody who joined us on the night and donated, pledged and played.

You can still support our young writers with a gift of £5 for our five years and help hundreds more children discover the joy of writing.

Thanks also to Trampery in Old Street for the very plush venue, to Natasha of Nevie-Pie Cake for our amazing cake and to Brian Wharr for the photographs.
