We are looking for an organised and efficient Retail Operations Assistant to be in charge of our one-of-a-kind shop, Hoxton Street Monster Supplies in Hoxton for ten months.
You will be responsible for the daily operations of the shop and online fulfilment, delivering excellent customer service.
You will help to drive sales, monitor performance and keep the shop looking its most beastly. As part of the role you will recruit and train our team of volunteer shopkeepers.
You will enjoy working in a supportive and fun environment, and will care about creating the best possible shopping experience for our customers from all over the world.
The Retail Operations Assistant will be three days/week under the leadership of the Retail Business Manager and forms part of the wider Operations Team.
This is the perfect role for a candidate with a strong interest in retail with a social purpose. You will be a great team builder – confident and motivated to train, lead and support a wide range of people as volunteers – as well as being friendly and welcoming to all visitors!
The shop and online orders can get very busy, especially in the autumn, but you will be successful because you will show good initiative, energy, commitment and professional pride in your work.
Ideally you will have experience of customer service and retail management, whilst being enthusiastic and full of courage to have a go. We’ll teach you everything else you need to know about working in the world of monsters – be they Dead, Living or Undead.

We’ve expanded our Community Writing Labs to support more children to access free writing programmes at our dedicated writing centre in east London, and have grown our schools programme to support more schools to meet the needs of their students through creative writing. Our attention-grabbing shop, Hoxton Street Monster Supplies, is growling and growing our monster customer base through new products and marketing.
