We’re turning ten

Donate to support our young writers this November, and as a thank you we’ll send you a Birthday in a Box.

While we’d normally love to celebrate ten years of storytelling, imagination, mischief, and monsters with you in person, we have to do things a little differently this year.

Which is why we’ve created our very own Birthday in a Box. A chance to support our young writers and celebrate with us from home.

This tiny box contains a limited edition mug featuring one of four quotes from our ten year history, and heaps of other treats to bring the party into your home.

You’ll also get a special letter of thanks from our co-founder and First Minister Nick Hornby, and a creative writing challenge from The Chief – the mysterious figure who is known to help our young writers along with their creative writing sessions at Hoxton Street. If you’re feeling daring, you can send us your finished writing challenge and it might feature on our website.

You make the difference

We're turning ten

Our Community Writing Labs are free to attend for all young people, and this is down to the generosity of our fantastic supporters!

Your birthday donations will help us ensure that our young people will continue to have free access to the world of creative writing, each week through the school term. Our online clubs have proved a lifeline of stability for young lives uprooted by the pandemic.

Thanks so much for joining us on this ten year journey so far, and for celebrating our birthday with us. We’ve been led to countless strange and surprising places by thousands of young people’s imaginations over the years – but we’re only getting started. Don’t forget that you can join in the fun and celebrate with us this month by sending us your pictures and writing from the Birthday Box. We can’t wait to see what you come up with.
