NEW STARTER RESOURCES

Thank you for registering to become a Ministry of Stories volunteer. It is great to have you on the team and we look forward to welcoming you into the weird and wonderful world of our young writers’ imaginations.

You will be given everything you need when you attend your Volunteer Induction. Your can also click to download the main documents here.

Safety first!

Protecting our young writers and volunteers are one of our top priorities and we have a strong policies in place to ensure this. All volunteers must read and confirm that they have read our our Safeguarding Policy as part of their induction. Why not read it now and get ahead of the game?

Safeguarding Policy
DISCLOSURE AND BARRING SERVICE

After you have done your induction and before you can begin volunteering with us, you will need to have an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. If you do not have a DBS yet, we will arrange for a new application form to be emailed to you.

You may have a current one from another employer that we may be able to use. However:

  • It has to be an Enhanced Certificate for the Child Workforce
  • It has to be under 2 years old and we need to see the original copy
  • Or you need to be registered with the DBS Update Service

Want to know more about the DBS ahead of your induction? Use the links below!
