The Little Ogre DID NOT Stop
Greg Nay, AKA the Little Ogre, raised over £700 for our young writers.
On Sunday the 21st of September, friend of Ministry of Stories Greg Nay pedalled valiantly around Epping Forest on a 100km adventure. With some other brave bikers joining him along the way, the Little Ogre and friends managed to raise £708.
By half past five, he had finished the MAMMOTH distance and could head home. Just in time for some energy-restoring tea and cake.
Greg said of the ride:
It is always a pleasure to help out the Ministry and I hope the young writers have some great projects to tackle.
Indeed they do! Greg’s £708 of well-earned funds will directly support our Community Writing Labs, creating a safe space for young east Londoners to explore their imaginations and build confidence.
It was only a couple of years ago that Greg rode the full length of the UK – from Land’s End to John O’ Groats – raising £4,000 for Ministry of Stories in the process. He’s a pro at fundraising for us! But it’s not as tricky as it might seem. Anyone can raise some money for Ministry of Stories.
You can run the Hackney Half Marathon for us March next year or organise your own bike ride for whichever date suits you. But if long distances aren’t your thing, that’s not a problem. How about a bake sale? Or running a book quiz with your friends or colleagues? Or anything you can dream up! We’re here to support you in supporting us.
If you have any fundraising ideas or questions, email our Fundraising Trainee (beattie@ministryofstories.org) and we can have a chat about them.
You can’t donate specifically to Greg’s fundraiser anymore, but you can still donate to Ministry.
