Runners Round-Up

Our fantastic runners have raised £11,581

With the marathon world record freshly broken, you might think you’ve already heard the biggest running news of 2026 – but there’s more! 12 terrific Ministry of Stories supporters have taken on remarkable running feats of their own.

In April, Alex and Tiffany took on the London Marathon and both smashed the 26.2 miles. Tiffany even powered through the second half with a sprained ankle! She adds; Going into the London Marathon, my time felt less important to me because I was happy to be running for Ministry of Stories and to run in a city I once called home.

Yesterday, ten more friends laced up their trainers and took on the Hackney Half – 13.1 miles around the borough where we’ve been working with young people for fifteen years. Despite weather forecasts threatening hail and rain, Sunday turned out to be dry and sunny, with wonderful music and cheering and funny signs supporting our runners around the route.

We’re so grateful to our wonderful runners who’ve racked up some serious numbers across both races. With a grand total of 183.5 miles ran an incredible  £11,581 raised to support our young writers!

Thank you Alex, Tiffany, Steph, Lucie, Harbi, Morgan, Maya, Asi, Rob, Helen, Beattie and Laura. We hope you can now rest your achy legs.
