BIC Creative Writing Competition

Posted by theministry on 3rd May 2016

For this year’s Creative Writing competition we asked what you thought waking up in a world without words would be like?

How would you write your friend Sarah a meaningful birthday card, or fill out all of those boxes on your exam papers? We wanted you to get as creative as possible as we celebrated the unique and very personal art of the written word.

Thank you to over 1,000 of you who entered. You’ve proved that you’re a brilliantly creative bunch!

To see if your entry has made the cut, you’ll have to read the British Illustrated Chronicle (B.I.C.), launching on 21 July, and available for download here.

What was up for grabs?

  • Winner – A certificate and the title, ‘Assistant Features Editor’, in the B.I.C., along with a creative writing workshop for their class, courtesy of Ministry of Stories and lots of BIC writing products.
  • Runners up – A certificate and the title, ‘Junior Assistant Features Editors’, in the B.I.C., along with a gift pack for their class containing an array of BIC writing products, as well as a bundle of goodies from Hoxton Street Monster Supplies, London’s oldest supplier of goods for the Living, Dead and Undead.
