Community

We create a safe and inspiring space where creativity can flourish and young people feel proud to explore their identities and localities through writing.

Our secret: inspirational mentors

Our specially trained volunteer writing mentors provide one-to-one support for young people during our innovative sessions.

They help children develop language and communication skills, giving them greater confidence – in education and in life. Children feel listened to and have their opinions valued and acted upon.

All our volunteers are DBS checked and trained in safeguarding procedures. You’re in good hands.

Our approach works

All of our projects are managed by our experienced programme team and we continually measure the impact of our work against our Theory of Change, to make sure it does what we say it will.

Our programmes offer the space, support and inspiration to bring excitement to writing.

We deliver unique learning experiences that translate to positive results in the classroom and our work is proven to:

  • Raise attainment
  • Re-engage children in learning
  • Support mental health and wellbeing
  • Deliver on school improvement priorities
  • Provide young people with broad cultural and creative experiences
