We allow learners’ imaginations to take the lead and put young people at the centre of all our programmes.
From poets to playwrights, story makers to speechwriters, all our programmes are devised and delivered by professional writers and practitioners.
Our specially trained volunteer mentors provide individual support for young writers. All our volunteers are DBS checked and trained in safeguarding procedures.
We work in partnership with schools and teachers in east London to help get their students buzzing about learning.
We’re always working towards sharing, publishing or producing real work and partnered with organisations such as the BBC and UK Parliament to make this happen.
We create a safe and inspiring space where creativity can flourish and young people feel proud to explore their identities and localities through writing.
Our specially trained volunteer writing mentors provide one-to-one support for young people during our innovative sessions.
They help children develop language and communication skills, giving them greater confidence – in education and in life. Children feel listened to and have their opinions valued and acted upon.

All of our projects are managed by our experienced programme team and we continually measure the impact of our work against our Theory of Change, to make sure it does what we say it will.

We also commissioned a three-year longitudinal research evaluation of all our programmes by the Institute of Education. The study concludes the Ministry boosts creativity, motivation and communication in children.
