Rowan is a spoken word poet and writing facilitator from East London. He loves helping people find the power of their voice and cultivating playful environments where everyone can be creative without fear of judgment. He encourages others to play with language, try new things, and gain confidence by writing and sharing their work.
He has led creative writing and arts workshops with organisations such as Hackney Empire, Blackhorse Workshop, Eastside, and V&A East. Through his involvement with V&A East’s Decolonising Reading and Listening Group, Rowan explores how creative expression can support decolonial thought. He believes poetry and storytelling can challenge dominant narratives, offer new perspectives, and help us learn from the past to build a better future.
