A New Writing Group for Teenagers
We are delighted to introduce our new Community Writing Lab for 14-18 year olds.
In September, we opened our doors to our first cohort of teen writers. It’s an exciting step for us as we now welcome writers each week from 6 years old all the way up to 18.
This new group, led by its members, offers a space to explore bold ideas and take writing to the next level. Teen writers who join can work on their own creative projects or to take part in ones on offer.
No previous writing experience is required, just enthusiasm and an interest in exploring your voice and creativity.

Who can join?
The Writing Lab is open to anyone aged 14-18 who lives or goes to school or college in Hackney, Tower Hamlets or Islington.

What will happen in the group?
The group meets each week starting with some time to grab a snack and socialise. There’ll be some group time in a circle to chat about what you’re working on. Afterwards, there might be individual writing time, or a chance to work in pairs/groups. Each session ends with an opportunity (with no pressure) to share.
Each term, the group will decide what the focus of workshops will be but you can always get support with your own project if you prefer.

When and where will we meet?
The group meets at Ministry of Stories HQ, just behind Hoxton Street Monster Supplies on Tuesday, 6pm – 7.30pm.
