Writing clubs suspended until further notice
In light of the latest government advice, it is with a heavy heart that we are suspending all our writing clubs until further notice to protect our young writers, volunteers and staff.
We will be sharing some fun writing exercises for young people (and adults) to do at home over the coming weeks, so please watch this space and follow us on Facebook and Twitter if you don’t already.
For now, stay safe and we hope you enjoy a poem by one of our young writers who was inspired to write as London, to personify the city we call home.
London
Why are they awake now! Why can’t I sleep!
Neon lights guard my stomach,
People still walking at my feet.
I smell like chicken and chips,
I am a world-wide model!
Showing off the beautiful fashions
of countries far and wide.
I am a piece of art myself,
Graffiti on my nose.
Buildings weigh me down,
But still my lights shine.
Can’t stop me! Now I rise
Look out children, London’s flying high!
Try to stop me, but honey you can’t.
So power off your guns and hop on for the ride.
