Working together as a national family

Posted by theministry on 30th January 2019

Ministry of Stories, Grimm and Co and Little Green Pig are proud to announce their official national affiliation.

We are a national family of charities that believes in the creative power of children and young people’s writing and imaginations. Our affiliation is based on our shared methodology, close collaboration, and a commitment to the same values and purpose: to build the confidence, creativity and craft of young writers,

We started work together back in 2013 and since then, with the support and mentoring of the Ministry, Grimm and Co has opened a fantastic new writing centre and shop in Rotherham, working with the children and young people across Yorkshire, and Little Green Pig has developed a brilliant programme of volunteer-supported writing workshops and residential writing projects in schools in Brighton and Sussex.

Collectively, we now work with nearly 6,000 children per year. Each of us continues to go from strength to strength with our own programmes, and our recent discussions have explored how we can collaborate more closely and work together to the greater benefit of young people across the country.

Our national affiliation also agrees the shared principles of what we all do and will act as a guide for our future work as a national family of organisations that we plan to grow further in the future.
