Story Spotlight: The Bestiary and A poem in French and English
Tall tales, ripping yarns and fantastical poetry. Jump into some of our young writers’ work.
These two fantastic poems have emerged during our Time to Write term, where our young writers will have full creative control to explore their own writing interests. At the end of term, our young people gather up all their work and publish it in their very own zines, which will be gifted and traded with friends and family at a zine fair this week.
The Bestiary
by Audrey
I should probably stop writing
because I do not want another
monster in my house!
I’ve already got:
The Blink
The Demon
Blob The Slob
The Kok
Stitch
Triple-headed Ogre
I’ve one in my kitchen,
Two in my bathroom,
Three in my bedroom!
And I REPEAT
I do NOT WANT
ANY MORE!
But if I stopped writing
You poor readers who
Read my books will not have
ANYTHING to read!
Sadly, I have to stop because
It’s my dinnertime!
