Story Spotlight: I Come From
Tall tales, ripping yarns and fantastical poetry. Jump into some of our young writers’ work.
As part of the Time to Write term – where our young writer’s have space and time to write freely – Arietta created this I come from poem.
I Come From…
I come from water and live shifting roots
I come from flying thousands of miles in the air
I come from overturned earth
I come from drowning in the sounds of life
I come from suffocating in silence
I come from an epitaph pre-written
I come from colours so bright they hurt my eyes
I come from always choosing them over white
It’s just the person I am
I come from flinging myself off the cliffs
But never breaking a single bone
I come from the jump before the fall
I come from love
I come from loss
I come from the shimmers and scars of human existence
